Angela's Story
Hello, my name is Angela Cyree, and I need a kidney transplant.
I’ve lived with Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) and Polycystic Liver Disease (PLD) for most of my life. I’m 45 years old, a proud mother to a beautiful 25-year-old daughter and my two fur babies, and my condition has now progressed to stage 5 kidney failure. My doctors have told me that it won’t improve and that I’ll eventually need dialysis. The average wait time for a deceased donor is 3 to 5 years.
The hardest part of this illness has been watching my health decline while waiting for help. I’ve struggled with low morale, fatigue, anxiety, and moments of hopelessness. But I lean on love of my family to get through each day. My husband and daughter has been my biggest supporters, and one of the most emotional moments of this journey was explaining to them how serious things have become.
I’m a medical coder, I enjoy reading, gaming, traveling, and spending quality time with my daughter. These moments give me a break from the reality of my disease and help me stay grounded.
I’m reaching out to ask my community to consider helping me find a living kidney donor. A living donation gives me the best chance to avoid dialysis and reclaim a fuller, healthier life—one where I can continue doing what I love, be present for my daughter’s future, and grow older with dignity. Dialysis would mean spending 3–4 hours per day, three days a week, tied to a machine. A transplant offers hope, health, and more time with the people I love.

You could be the person who gives me a second chance at life—or help me find someone who can. I will be forever grateful for this incredible gift.
Thank you for taking the time to read to my story.
God bless.
— Angela
